A Beautiful Sight

I may have seen the most beautiful sight in my life this morning. I walked into my dad's hospital room and went to the side of his bed. I held his hand and called his name. I watched as his eye lids fluttered and then with great effort opened. My dad looked at me. I have had the remarkable experience of being told that my dad was dead and then seeing him alive again. There is something deeply biblical there don't you think? Dad is responding better than we had hoped. He is able to move arms and legs, grip with his hands, speak, understand us and our commands. He got his age wrong. He said he was 78 when he is really only 76. The funny thing is that my mom thought he was right so it may have more to do with Coffey math than the stroke. Thank you for your prayers. This is the update.

Joe, your dad was so kind when Julie was sick last year. He came to visit her in the hospital. I didn't ask him to come; he asked Kathy Grubbs if I would mind if he came. He told me about losing his son and said he had a special compassion for parents with very sick children. I am so glad to hear he is doing better. I will pray for him and for all of you. Your dad is such a blessing.

So biblical on so many different levels! Your family has been on my mind most of the past couple of days. We prayed for a miracle if it was His will, and we are beyond thrilled that your Dad's condition has improved...

This world lost my Dad to cancer when I was pregnant with Audrey so I can relate to the feeling of losing your hero... but to have the gift given back once you thought you had lost him... I cannot imagine the overwhelming emotions you & your family must have felt. Not just now, but always, I am so thankful for God's mercy.

We will continue to pray for your Dad's recovery and strength, as well as peace for your family.

Much love, Anne & Matt W.

I'm doing a daily devotional book and it just so happens that Monday's reading is in John where Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead.
That day I thought "How many people might come to believe in the Lord from Pastor Rolland giving a Lazarus testimony!!!
God teaches us how to pray!

So thrilled for all of you, especially Roland's wife. Roland touches so many lives and although he is important to everyone else, she is his life partner and they are two that are as one.
He is a merciful God!

Joe, we all rejoice with you and your family in the great news of the first steps in your Dad's recovery.

This brings to mind a verse from Malachi 4:2
"But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall".

A praying, loving church will live and move by the Spirit of the living God.

Precious Pastor and family,
We have been praying like crazy. I was thrilled to get the news of some recovery tonight at choir. As a neurological nurse, it sounds like nothing short of Gods great miracle. The entire Brunn family loves you and yours.

PS, your dad sent the kindest note to us when our daughter was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome. What a servant! You are too...
